Day 1: Arrival Day

January 6th, 2020.

Today is arrival day. We land in Maui, Hawaii. We are probably filled with excitement as we land on this turf completely new to us. The possibilities are endless during our vacation here.

Although we have 7 whole days to explore the wonders of Hawaii and relax in this paradise, there's so much to see and do, we probably want to start right away! Unfortunately, the jet lag (6 hour time difference) will definitely have us ready for bed...at least it'll be a nice luxurious bed at the Marriott Ocean Club overlooking the stunning ocean.

When we arrive at our hotel, we will grab some food and drinks at the Ka'anapali Grille and Tap Room and unwind after our long flight. We will also check out the hotel and rest up for a day full of adventure tomorrow!

Day 2: Haleakala Sunrise Tour

January 7th, 2020.

We will begin our vacation by waking up bright & early to watch the sunrise at the summit of Mount Haleakala, 10,000 ft above sea level. We will be picked up from the hotel by a mini coach to make a 38 mile trip to the summit of the dormant volcano, one of the most popular places to visit in Maui.

The tour will last 6.5 hours. We will be able to view the Big Island of Hawaii from Maui. We will also experience the kaleidoscope of changing colours of Haleakala from deep brown to bright red.

Once we descent from Haleakala, we will enjoy breakfast at Cafe Ole at the Maui Dunes Golf Course in Kahului. We will then head over to the Haleakala National Park to do some more exploring.

After the Haleakala Sunrise Tour, we will probably be exhausted so we will head back to the hotel. We will grab a bite to eat at the Hula Grill Ka'anapali and then maybe go for a late swim at the pool.

Daily Costs: $150

Day 3: The Road to Hana Adventure

January 8th, 2020.

Today we will be picked up from the hotel by motor coach and enjoy a multi-sensory experience on the road to Hana. We will view amazing sights of hardened lava flows, see the beautiful black sand beaches and caves, as well as visit the quaint planation town of Paia where we will learn about Hawaiian agriculture.

We will also visit Kaumahina State Park on this tour, which consists of 7.8 acres of forest filled with exotic plants, trails and a breathtaking waterfall. We will also get a chance to experience the Keanae Lookout to see the entire Keanae peninsula! We can also swim in the O'heo stream.

Once we get back to the hotel, we will go out to dinner to Pineapple Grill at Kapalua Resort and spend the evening relaxing from our day's adventures.

Daily Cost: $180

Day 4: Snorkelling and Romantic Dinner

January 9th, 2020.

Today is our big anniversary. We will start the day with a morning snorkel to Molokini and Coral Gardens. We will spend the day exploring the crater, and relaxing on the boat overlooking the crystal-clear waters. The trip in total will take about 5 hours. It will be fun to try something we have both never done and discover the ocean together.

We will then head back to the hotel and rest up a little bit. We will get ready and set out for a romantic dinner at the Ka'anapali Grille and Tap Room with a table overlooking the ocean and palm trees.

Daily Cost: $150

Day 5: Oahu Adventures

January 10th, 2020.

Today we will fly out to Oahu. The flight will only take about 30 minutes so will still be able to enjoy the entire day exploring the island of Oahu.

Our first stop in Oahu will be the Haiku stairs. Both being active people, my boyfriend and I will love the challenge to climb 3922 stairs and hopefully burn off some vacation desserts. The Haiku stairs, also known as the Stairway to Heaven, have been known to be well worth the climb for the surreal view from the top.

We will then spend the rest of the day relaxing from our exhausting hike on the shore of Lanikai beach. After we watch the sunset, we can have dinner at one of the restaurants off the coast of the beach and then head to our hotel, the Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club.

Daily Cost: $300

Day 6: Lau at Paradise Cove

January 11th, 2020.

Today we will celebrate Hawaiian culture by experiencing the Lau at Paradise Cove. We will learn about how the Hawaiian people ate, lived, and celebrated. We will get the wonderful opportunity to do things like string a lei, weave a headband, and throw a spear. We will also be educated about Hawaiian history, participate in traditional ceremonies like the fresh flower lei greeting and the imu ceremony, and of course feast on traditional Hawaiian staple foods like taro bread rolls, cold haupia (coconut jelly dessert), juicy kalua pork and other delicious foods...yum!

After eating all that food, we will sit back and enjoy the beauty and excitement as the Hawaiian people showcase their music and traditional hula dancing.

Daily Cost: $200

Day 7: Departure Day

January 12th , 2020.

Although we will have experienced adventure packed days filled with sight seeing and exploring, it will definitely be hard to leave this beautiful paradise. We will check out of our hotel and head downstairs for breakfast at our hotel, the Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club.

We will stop by the souvenir shop and pick up a couple little gifts for our families and friends and for ourselves to remember the wonderful time we had here. We will also spend some time by the pool before we head out to catch our flight back home. Knowing us, we often catch the travel bug after visiting new places, so we'll probably book our next getaway the second we land at home.

Daily Cost: $100
